Northern Arizona Seniors in Action Coalition

Mission

The mission of the NORTHERN ARIZONA SENIORS IN ACTION COALITION is to raise the quality of life for people over 60 in Northern Arizona.

Purpose

The purpose of the NORTHERN ARIZONA SENIORS IN ACTION COALITION is to:

  1. Provide leadership and advocacy to improve the quality of living for older persons
  2. Provide advice and information to decision makers, elected officials, agencies, and organizations regarding public issues and proposals of interest to older persons
  3. Develop communication, collaboration and coordination of services between agencies and care providers  throughout Northern Arizona and
  4. Develop training and educational programs for caregivers and older persons.

How We Do It

Through our Community Advocacy Committees of concerned citizens representing the communities they live in, our members actively research and participate in their local governments regarding the issues affecting our older population.



The Northern Arizona Seniors in Action Coalition

is focusing on the following key issues affecting seniors:

  • Transitional Care
    • ​monitor development of new Verde Valley​ care transition facilitator
    • continue research, develop partner collaborations & a strategic plan to present to Yavapai Regional (Prescott)

  • Patient Rights Checklist
    • ​research and develop for distribution & posting to NAZSAC website​

  • Elder Abuse / Justice
    • ​Advocate for County prosecutors (Yavapai & Coconino) to prosecute elder abuse perpetrators ​

  • Adult Disposable Briefs Supply Bank expansion
    • ​promote and foster continual supply donations from area hospices​, stores, etc., for our Cottonwood (Verde Valley) location
    •       research and develop a Prescott area location
